Samba, Aug 07: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday filed chargesheet against a Punjab-based heroin supplier who was recently arrested from his hometown Amritsar along with the recovery of heroin and drug money.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh told Rising Kashmir that the heroin supplier Jugraj Singh alias Yoddha of Devidass Pura tehsil in Amritsar had been operating from there and supplying huge quantity of heroin to the local drug suppliers of Samba and adjoining districts. He figured as one of the prime accused in a first information report (FIR) registered at Ghagwal police station after seizure of drug money and heroin. “We had conducted raids at several places in Amritsar and other places in Punjab to nab the accused. We succeeded in arresting him from Amritsar during a nocturnal raid. He was remanded to police custody and subsequently remanded to judicial custody,” he said. SSP Samba said that during the course of investigation, police proved the case against Yoddha and others and produced the challan in the court for judicial determination. “Big fishes involved in heroin supplying will not be spared and police would leave no stone unturned to bust all illicit heroin trafficking modules, to arrest and bring to justice all top chitta suppliers including those sitting outside J&K,” he added.
