CEO Poonch conducts surprise check of govt schools

Poonch, Dec 14: The Chief Education Officer (CEO), Poonch, Bishamber Dass on Wednesday conducted surprise visits of various government schools to check their functioning and inspect whether students are availing the best benefits from classroom teaching.
The schools inspected include Government Higher Secondary School Poonch, PS Mohalla Panditan, GPS Nai Basti, MPS Diet Poonch, GMS Mohalla Azad, GPS Temple Zone Kanuyian, GPS Mangnar, GMS Hayat Pura, HS Mangnar and High School Kanuyian. 
During his visit, the CEO interacted with students of various classes to take stock of the classroom teaching in different subjects and other facilities being provided to them. He questioned students on the basic concepts of different subjects including English, Mathematics, EVS, Science and Urdu. He also took rounds of the examination centres created in Boys HSS Poonch and HS Mangnar for the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Examination and asked the staff on duty to provide all sorts of basic facilities to the students taking part in the examination. 
The CEO checked the attendance of staff, students, school record, sanitation, and midday meal. He held meetings with the school heads and staff to discuss the shortcomings in classroom teaching. He asked the school heads to exert their nerves to bring in qualitative improvement in the classroom teaching. He also issued certain instructions to the school staff where he found some irregularities and warned them of serious consequences if they fail to bring quality education in the schools.
