Centre approves dev projects over 3800 cr for J&K

Srinagar, Oct 04: The Union Government on Tuesday approved developmental projects over more than 38,00 cr for Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), officials said.
According to officials, a total Rs 3854.46 crore are approved for the developmental works in the UT, adding Rs 1915.04 crore are approved for Jammu division while Rs 1939.42 crore for Kashmir division.
The officials said that the projects approved include events under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, National Rural Livelihood Mission (UMEED)/SHGs. Swachh Bharat Mission, activities under Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, Activation of Drug De-Addiction Centres, and release of J&K SDG Report―2022.
Besides, approval was given for laying e-foundation stone of building for Women Battalion, Sopore for the Home Department.
For Jalk Shakti Department, approval was given for laying foundation stones for the construction of hydraulic gates at the entry/exit point of Hokersar Wetland of flood spill channel worth Rs 28.45crore, for construction of 15 Water Supply Schemes (WSS) in Kashmir Division under Jal Jeevan Mission worth Rs. 107.45 crore, inauguration of WSS, Brinty, Batpora, at an estimated cost of Rs 7.45 crore, inauguration of WSS, Regional Shangus (NRDWP) at an estimated cost of Rs. 13.02 crore.
Likewise approval was given for Housing and Urban Development Department for urban development projects in Kashmir Division worth Rs. 18.53 crore
For Public Works Department, approval was given for the inauguration of 74 roads with length of 434.37 kms worth Rs. 442.58 crore, construction of 7 bridges worth Rs. 23.40 crore, construction of building worth Rs. 4.97 crore.
Besides, the approval was also given for laying the foundation stones for 94 roads with length of 580.92 kms worth Rs. 511.66 crore, one building worth Rs. 13.78 crore.
The Union Government has also approved inauguration of 20 projects worth Rs 200.14 Cr, besides laying the foundation stone of 7 projects worth Rs 367.67 Cr for Power Development Department.
For Health and Medical Education Department, approval was for the inauguration of IPD Block, SDH, Bijbehara, at an estimated cost of Rs. 14.47 crore and inauguration of OPD-cum-Administration Block/Staff Quarters at SDH, Dooru, at an estimated cost of Rs. 12.79 crore.
Besides, approval was also given for laying the foundation stone of new building for Sub-District Hospital at Hazratbal, Srinagar, at an estimated cost of Rs. 18.99 crore.
For Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Department approval was given for the foundation stone of three transit accommodations (Babadaryadin (Ganderbal) Allowpora Phase-I (Shopian) Odina (Sumbal)) (864 BHK) worth 104.07 crore.
