JAMMU, Nov 21: In view of the ceasefire violations from across the border in Samba sector recently, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law & Order, J&K ,Vijay Kumar, on Tuesday visited border areas of adjoining Samba and Kathua districts and advised the officers of different security and intelligence  agencies to work in “coordination and in tandem” to thwart the nefarious designs of enemy in border areas.
It is pertinent mentioning here due to unprovoked firing from across the border in Samba sector recently, people living in forward areas shifted to safer places. However, they were persuaded by the administration after which they went back to their homes.
“The ADGP, along with DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shakti Pathak, conducted extensive tour of border areas of Samba and Kathua districts and  also held security review meetings”, SSP Samba, Benam Tosh told Rising Kashmir.
After the tour of border areas in Samba and Kathua, the security review meeting was held at the conference hall of DPO Samba which was attended by officers of all
Agencies concerned with security and law & order of both the adjoining districts i.e Samba and Kathua.
In the meeting, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Samba, Benam Tosh presented PPT and briefed the ADGP on present security scenario. The officers of different security and intelligence agencies also briefed the ADGP and the DIG about the prevailing security scenario in both the districts.
“Learn from your past temporary setbacks, if any, and to get ready with renewed energy to face future challenges,” the ADGP told the officers in the meeting and also directed the SHOs to generate information about all happenings in advance and to take appropriate preventive action.
He advised the officers of all agencies to work in tandem to thwart nefarious designs of the enemy in border areas. The ADGP visited border areas of Ramgarh, Samba and Hiranagar sectors along the International Border (IB)
