Jammu, July 04: Chamber of Commerce & Industry chairman Arun Gupta on Tuesday welcomed the decision of the Lieutenant Governor-led administration of providing 5 marlas land to the landless families to construct their houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
According to a CCI statement, Gupta while chairing a meeting of the office bearers of the Chamber said, “Our Prime Minister is keen to provide all basic essential facilities to the poor and the needy people whether it is education, medical facility or other household things. The Prime Minister has earlier announced a scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna so that the people who do not have any kind of shelter will be given a constructed house where their families/children can live in a dignified manner.”
The Chamber also appreciates the arrangements made by the administration for the smooth, comfortable and hassle-free pilgrimage of holy Shri Amarnath pilgrimage, Arun Gupta said, adding that there are various issues which need to be addressed and the administration should listen to those who have come here for darshan of holy Baba Amarnath.
The CCI chairman, however, said the traffic movement on the national highway needs to be monitored at the highest level as due to long traffic jams, pilgrims and other commuters are facing a lot of problems to reach their destinations. The other office bearers of CCI present in the meeting were Rajeev Gupta, Jr. Vice President, Manish Gupta, Secretary General and Rajesh Gupta, Treasurer, the Chamber said.
