CBC’s photo exhibition concludes in Tral

Tral, March 25: A two day long Integrated Communication and Outreach Program (ICOP) on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), G20 and Mission LiFe organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India concluded in Tral today.
Apart from these themes, information about other flagship programmes of the government was also provided by means of photo exhibits, informative standees, printed IEC material, expert lectures, group discussions as well as traditional folk media performances.
The activities on second day of the program were presided over by Sh. Manzoor Ahmad Khan, President Municipal Committee, Tral.
In his presidential address, Sh. Khan said that there is no dearth of welfare schemes but awareness about them is lacking. He said people need to come out and seek information. He said we need to shun the practices that pollute our towns and ensure clean sorroundings.
The concluding day was dedicated to awareness about various welfare schemes in health and agricultural sectors. Resource persons apprised the people about different programs being implemented by their respective departments.
Addressing the gathering, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Tral Sh Shakeel Ahmad said that agricultural sector has huge potential of employment generation for youth. He said youth need to come forward and avail the opportunities.
Aashiq Hussain Mir, Agriculture Extension Officer gave a detailed overview of the schemes like PM-KISAN, Fasal Bima Yojana and Soil Health Card. He informed about different employment generating schemes like bee keeping, cultivation of mushrooms, exotic vegetables and cut flowers. He also briefed about various subsidy schemes for purchase of farm equipments and machinery.
Providing an insight into various schemes in health sector, Sh. Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Community Health Officer gave a detailed presentation on Ayushman Bharat-Sehat, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram, Pradhan Mantri Matritvu Vandhana Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadi Yojana. He added that the government is making every effort to ensure that affordable and quality healthcare is accessible to everyone and the onus is on the people to avail the benefits.
A painting competition and an open quiz were organized on the occasion for the participants which included ASHAs and school as well as college students. The winners were felicitated by the bureau at the conclusion of the event.
Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer expressed gratitude to Tral sub-district administration, Principal Government Degree College, Tral and all other stakeholders for making the event a success. He appealed to the participants to amplify the message of the outreach programme to help deserving people avail the benefits of the welfare schemes.
