CBC Sgr organises outreach progs on new criminal laws

Srinagar, Aug 01: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office Srinagar, on Thursday held an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme at Government Higher Secondary School Safapora in Ganderbal district. The event highlighted various flagship schemes of the Central government and introduced the new criminal laws under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Speakers from the police and prosecution departments and the representatives from the School Education Department delivered speeches on government schemes and the recently implemented criminal laws. A debate, quiz and a painting and drawing competitions were organised for the students to emphasize the role of youth in a crime-free society.
The Chief Guest, Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Ghulam Hassan, elaborated on the new laws, saying the new laws focus more on welfare than punishment. He encouraged students to become law-abiding citizens and commit themselves to the development of society and the nation.
Field Publicity Officer CBC Srinagar, Naseer Ahmad Rather, reiterated the bureau’s commitment to spreading awareness about the Central government’s developmental initiatives and flagship schemes. He outlined several government schemes aimed at youth empowerment and urged students to harness the power of education for a brighter future.

Cultural artists empanelled with CBC Srinagar presented colourful skits and musical performances, focusing on government schemes and the importance of youth in a crime-free society. The event concluded with participants taking a pledge to be law-abiding and responsible citizens.
