Srinagar, May 14: An “impactful” G20 Summit awareness campaigning event was organized in Lal Chowk Constituency, Srinagar, with attendees including local residents, prominent personalities of Kashmir, and distinguished guests. The event aimed to highlight the benefits of the G20 Summit event in Kashmir and its potential to boost tourism and economic growth.
The program was organised by DDC Khanmoh and Member Hajj Committee of India Er Aijaz Hussain and prominent youth leaders Manzoor Bhat and Bilal Parray was the chief guest.
Er Aijaz Hussain, who expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that the G-20 meetings in Srinagar will give Kashmir’s tourism potential a global push at a global platform and help showcase Kashmir’s great art, culture and heritage, besides finding solutions to challenges being posed by the climate change in J&K.
Aijaz emphasized that the G20 event in Kashmir would address global challenges affecting economic growth, such as finance, trade, infrastructure, investment, energy, employment, corruption eradication, development, agriculture, technology, innovation, and the digital economy.
Manzoor Bhat emphasized the positive impact of the G20 event on the local population, while Hussain and Parry also shared their insights during the program.
Addressing the gathering, Bhat clarified that the ongoing Smart City project in Srinagar is separate from the G20 event, and its completion will be expedited due to the event. He expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his decision to host the G20 event in Kashmir, emphasizing that it would bring numerous benefits to the local community.
Bhat commended PM Modi’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of the people of Kashmir, highlighting his consistent efforts to uplift the region. He further dismissed attempts by certain local parties to spread propaganda and assured that their efforts would be futile.
Youth leader Bilal Parray also expressed their views during the program. Parray acknowledged the decline in tourism over the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and highlighted the G20 event as an opportunity to revive people’s interest in exploring new destinations. He expressed enthusiasm about welcoming foreign delegates and showcasing lesser-known places to foreign tourists.
The program received overwhelming participation from civil society, advocates, senior citizens, and local residents. The event concluded successfully, generating awareness about the G20 event and its potential positive impact on the region.
