Bandipora, Apr 21: At least 745 boys and girls have been trained so far while 172 are working in rural business process outsourcing (BPO) in North Kashmir’s Bandipora.

The BPO was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of the India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS) to provide employment to around 1.5 lakh people in the country, particularly in rural areas.

The BPO center, located in the Mini Secretariat Bandipora , has been providing job opportunities to hundreds of youth, particularly girls, in the region. The center has trained 745 youth so far, out of which 172, including both boys and girls, are currently working in two shifts.

The center is equipped with modern infrastructure and has been instrumental in the government’s ‘Digital India’ campaign, which aims to provide digital infrastructure to every citizen of the country. The Bandipora BPO center has been a game-changer for the local youth, enabling them to work from their hometowns.

The success stories of the Bandipora BPO center are numerous, with many of its trained youth now working in top MNCs in India and abroad.

Mubashir Ahmad, who started as a data entry operator and is now working with top MNC said, “The BPO center has been a great platform for me to develop my skills and build my career. The training I received here was invaluable and helped me get a job with a top MNC. I am grateful for the opportunities provided to me by the BPO center.”

Similarly a girl who started as a customer care executive said, “The BPO center has been a lifeline for me and many other girls in the area. We were able to work from our hometowns and support our families while pursuing our dreams. The training we received here was world-class, and it helped me secure a job. I am proud to be associated with the Bandipora BPO center.”

The district administration has been effectively monitoring the functioning of the center to ensure that the youth are provided with the best training and employment opportunities. The administration has been proactive in resolving any issues faced by the center and working closely with the management to ensure its smooth functioning.

The in-charge of the Bandipora BPO center, Shahid Ahmad, expressed his pride in the center’s achievements, saying, “The BPO center has provided a platform for the youth in the area to showcase their talent and skills. We are proud to say that we have produced trained youth who are now doing jobs in top MNCs in India and abroad.”

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmed told Rising Kashmir that the Rural Business Process Outsourcing center in Bandipora is a great initiative that has created employment opportunities for the youth in the region, particularly girls.

He said that the center has provided them with the necessary training and infrastructure to develop their skills and pursue their careers from their hometowns. “We are committed to supporting such initiatives that aim to bring about positive change in the lives of our youth and help them become self-reliant”, he added.

The Bandipora BPO center is not just creating employment opportunities, but it is also empowering the youth in the region by providing them with the necessary skills and training to build their careers, he said.

“The success stories of the youth who have been trained at the Bandipora BPO center are inspiring, and we are committed to continuing to support such initiatives that aim to bring about positive change in the lives of our youth”, he added.

The Bandipora BPO center is a prime example of how government initiatives can bring about positive change in the lives of the youth in rural areas. With the right infrastructure and support, the youth in rural areas can become a valuable asset to the country’s workforce.
