Srinagar, July 27: SKUAST –K and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Budgam on Thursday organised a district-level programme in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture. The occasion marked the bulk release of the 14th installment of PM-Kissan by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi from Sikar Rajasthan.
More than 100 farmers of zone Soibugh, Budgam and Shogapora participated in the programme. The PM’s address was telecast live for the farmers. The event was presided over by Dr Akramullah Tak, ADC Budgam, Sameer Ahmad Shah, District President BJP, Ashraf Azad senior leader BJP, officials of the line department and scientists of the KVK.
Dr Akramullah Tak appreciated the efforts of officials of Agriculture and Revenue Department for the registration of the farmers under PM-Kissan scheme. He hailed the role of KVK in outreach to the farmers in the far-flung areas for disseminating latest technology to the farming community of the district. Sameer Ahmad Shah assured the audience to provide full support to the Kendra and Department of Agriculture for upliftment of the farming community of the district.
