BSP prepares for upcoming assembly polls in J&K

Jammu, June 18: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Wednesday organised a meeting here to review the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting, as per a party statement issued here, saw the presence of BSP Jammu and Kashmir Coordinator and former MP Raja Ram and Dr Avtar Singh Karimpuria as the chief guests. The meeting was chaired by BSP State President Darshan Rana and attended by senior leaders and party workers. During the meeting, discussions were held on the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections as well as the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the meeting, BSP State Coordinator and former MP Raja Ram said the Bahujan Samaj Party fielded its candidates for Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir and received substantial support from the common people. However, despite the support, the party could not win the Lok Sabha seats, he said.
Ram said the BSP will field its candidates on all assembly seats in the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir and will participate with full strength. He urged party leaders and workers to start preparing for the assembly elections immediately to secure a majority of the seats.
Dr Avtar Singh Karimpuria, the party’s state coordinator and former MP, also addressed the meeting, saying the BSP candidates received full support in the recent Lok Sabha elections. “The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir could be announced anytime and the BSP is fully prepared,” he said and encouraged party workers to spread the party’s policies to the common people.
State President Darshan Rana spoke about the party’s strategic participation in the Lok Sabha elections and promised a similarly strong and strategic approach for the upcoming assembly elections. He acknowledged attempts by some political parties to mislead BSP workers during the Lok Sabha elections but asserted that the BSP will enter the assembly elections with a well-planned strategy, fielding candidates in both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions with the aim of winning.
“Bahujan Samaj Party is gaining strength in Jammu and Kashmir and public trust in the party is continuously increasing,” he said.
