On the occasion of 78th Independence Day, BSF DG Daljit Singh Chaudhary said that BSF will always ensure unity and integrity of the country by maintaining its glorious tradition of valour, courage and sacrifice.

Addressing media persons, BSF DG Daljit Singh Chaudhary said, “On this auspicious occasion of the national festival, I want to assure all the countrymen that the Border Security Force will always be ready for the unity and integrity of the country by maintaining its glorious tradition of valour, courage and sacrifice. We are proud that the freedom fighters born on the soil of Punjab have made a very important contribution to the independence of our country. Brave freedom fighters like Lala Lajpat Rai, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, and Sukhdev Singh have contributed to the freedom struggle by sacrificing their lives.”

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Independence Day, the Inspector General of Border Security Forces (BSF), Harbax Singh Dhillon, hoisted the flag at the frontier headquarters in Umpling, Shillong, on Thursday.

Celebrating the occasion with great enthusiasm, the BSF personnel deployed at the border also hoisted the national flag.

Additionally, a weapon exhibition was organised for the local students and sweets were also distributed to the personnel deployed at the border with Bangladesh, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and mutual respect.

Adding to the patriotic fervour, students from BSF Schools presented a series of cultural programmes that highlighted the rich cultural heritage and unity of the nation.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Inspector General Harbax Singh Dhillon extended his heartfelt wishes.

He encouraged the students to uphold national values and strive to become responsible citizens of India. He also conveyed his greetings to the people of Meghalaya, all force members and their families. (ANI)
