BRO initiates snow clearance operation on Baltal-Domail road

Ganderbal, March 01: Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Wednesday initiated snow clearance work on Baltal Domail road leading to holy Amarnath Cave in this Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official said that In order to facilitate Amarnath pilgrims the administration has started the work of making road from Baltal to Domail last year so that the pilgrims here do not have to go through any problems.
He said road construction work was given to R&B department and after completing the road work it was handed over to Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and this year they starting snow clearing work from Baltal to Domail Track for the first time.
For the last three days, the work of removing snow on the Baltal Domail track has been under way, Beacon has put the missionary at work along with the labourers.
They added that the snow clearance operation will be completed soon if weather remains better.
An official from BRO said that the snow clearance work on Amarnath track from Baltal to Domail is since last three days.
Official sources said that BRO was directed to clear the snow from the roads on both the axis of Chandanwadi and Baltal before the end of April so that other departments are able to carry out their activities smoothly.
