Srinagar, June 06: Bollywood actor Lalit Parimoo on Tuesday said that the Indian film industry should explore the unexplored locations of Kashmir for film shoots.
Parimoo, known for his roles in both Bollywood and regional cinema, shared his views during a press conference in Srinagar while promoting his upcoming film ‘Lafzon Mein Pyaar’.
Parimoo stressed that filmmakers have mainly focused on popular destinations like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg in the valley. He suggested that there is immense beauty in Kashmir that remains untapped and should be discovered by the industry.
He commended the government’s efforts to promote filmmaking in the region and spoke about the newly launched film policy of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharing his personal experience, Parimoo revealed that ‘Lafzon Mein Pyaar’ was initially planned to be shot in Uttarakhand. However, upon learning about the film policy of Jammu and Kashmir, the team decided to film in Bhaderwah, a picturesque location in the region.
He expressed his happiness about shooting the film in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the increased presence of film productions in the valley would contribute to tourism and generate employment opportunities for locals.
He acknowledged the efforts made by the government to facilitate the return of Bollywood to the valley, rekindling the longstanding relationship between the industry and the majestic region of Kashmir.
‘Lafzon Mein Pyaar’ narrates the story of Raj, a young man who embarks on a musical journey of self-discovery after leaving his studies halfway. The film boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Anita Raj, Zarina Wahab, Prashant Rai, Sarwar Mir, Vaani Dogra, Megha Joshi, Mahima Gupta, Sachin Bhandari, Ismile Choudhary, and Avinash Kumar, among others. It has been directed by Dhiraj Mishra and Raja Randeep Giri, with production and lyrics by Ashok Sawhny “Sahil”.
Singer Kabul Bukhari said that he was happy to work on this project. “I got to represent my work in Bollywood and that too in a film which has been shot in J&K,” he said.
The team also released the poster of the film on the occasion.
