Body of a mentally unsound person was recovered in the Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday.
An official told Rising Kashmir that male body was found at Nallah in Sumbal by locals who later informed the police.
He said that the team of police reached the spot and shifted the body to the nearest hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The official identified the body as Ishfaq Ahmad son of Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Vijpara Hajin.
The body was later handed over to legal heirs for last rites after conducting the legal-medico formalities, official said.
The family said the deceased was mentally unsound and was missing from 12 March from Mental hospital Rainawari Srinagar.
