
Srinagar, May 19 : In connection with the 36th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (RA), a large blood donation camp was organised today at Ganj Bakhsh Park, Nowhatta, Srinagar, under the aegis of Mirwaiz Foundation in collaboration with Ujala Cygnus Amandeep Hospital.
A large number of people, especially youth, enthusiastically participated in the humanitarian initiative.
The participants included students, volunteers, women and members of civil society, who came forward to donate blood in the spirit of service and compassion for humanity.Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq visited the camp and interacted with the participants.
Appreciating their enthusiasm and sense of social responsibility, the Mirwaiz said that such initiatives truly reflect the humanitarian values, compassion and service to mankind that Shaheed-e-Millat (RA) stood for throughout his life.Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, Mirwaiz said that it was heartening to see such a strong response, particularly from the younger generation, towards a noble cause aimed at saving precious human lives.
He said that the spirit of humanity, selflessness and social service displayed by the participants was deeply commendable.Mirwaiz thanked all those who participated in the camp and said that more than 225 units of blood were donated during the programme.
He also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the associates and volunteers of Mirwaiz Foundation and the medical teams and staff of Ujala Cygnus Amandeep Hospital for successfully organising and conducting the blood donation drive.
