Block Diwas: ADC Shopian listens to people’s grievances

Shopian, July 12: District Administration Shopian on Wednesday held Block Diwas at Gagren in order to assess the local issues and listen to the grievances of the people for their speedy disposal. The outreach programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Yar Ali Khan.
Several public issues including repairs of Ramnagri- Khan Mohalla road, Saidapora-Gorikhal road, Macadamization of Ramnagri- Vehil road, upgradation of Girls School Ramnagri, installation of solar lights, repairs of lanes and drains, providing of portable drinking water facility, etc were projected by the people of various areas of Shopian.
The ADC gave a patient hearing to the grievances raised and assured quality disposal of genuine issues in a time-bound manner while directing the concerned officers to resolve the same expeditiously to facilitate the common masses of the Shopian.
While interacting with the local people and the delegations, the ADC said that the Block Diwas is being organised across the length and breadth of the District Shopian, with the sole objective to provide a more transparent, accountable, public-friendly and responsive administration to the people.
He said the permanent nature of Block Diwas is to ensure effective service delivery to the public by different departments, besides evolving a vibrant mechanism for on-the-spot redressal of public grievances.
On the occasion, the officers and officials of line departments responded to the queries and grievances of the people and also intimated the people about departmental schemes available for the public welfare. BDO Shopian, PRIs, engineers of various engineering wings and other concerned officials of line departments were present at the event.
