Jammu, Nov 09: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Ramgarh, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal on Saturday strongly criticised the resolution passed by the Omar Abdullah-led government in the J&K Assembly, calling it “illegal and unconstitutional”.
The resolution lacked any constitutional validity or sanctity,” Dr Manyal said, adding that it was not in line with the Assembly’s business. He accused the Speaker of acting as an “agent” of a political party.
The BJP leader said the contents of the resolution were a reflection of the mentality of the newly elected government in Jammu & Kashmir.
The MLA, according to his statement issued here, was warmly welcomed by party workers and local residents upon his return from Srinagar.
Meanwhile, Dr Manyal provided an update on a crucial meeting held on Friday. He said a delegation of BJP MLAs, led by Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, met with Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Mandeep Kour, Commissioner Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department, to address the ongoing strike by sanitation workers in urban local bodies.
The delegation expressed concern over the disruption to essential services and urged the government to take swift action to resolve the matter. They also called for extending the benefits of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme to local allottees and West Pakistan Refugees, similar to the benefits provided to PoJK refugees.
Dr Manyal reiterated the BJP’s commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, assuring constituents that the party would continue to stand up for their interests and ensure that vital services remain unaffected.
