Jammu, Sept 03: The BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) is set to intensify its election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, with Union Minister Amit Shah arriving on a two-day visit from September 6, followed by Prime Minister NarendraModi’s mega rally in Kishtwar on September 14 or 15.
According to party sources, PM Modi’s rally will cover most Assembly segment constituencies in Chenab Valley, sending a strong message to voters in the region.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address two election rallies in Jammu, including one in Jammu City, and release the BJP’s manifesto for the Assembly elections from Hotel Ritz Manor, the party’s media center.
According to party sources, on the first day of his visit, the Home Minister will meet with the core group of the state’s BJP unit to review the party’s election preparations and ground-level activities. On the second day, Shah will hold discussions with party leaders to ensure the success of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will see 219 candidates in the fray, with voting scheduled for September 18. This will be the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370.
Security forces have taken control of the venue, ensuring fool-proof security arrangements.
Other star campaigners, including UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, KanganaRanaut, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and NitinGadkari, will also join the campaign trail in J&K.
The BJP is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to win the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, with a slew of high-profile leaders and celebrities set to campaign across the region.
