Jammu, Jan 24: Former All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) are being used as a “political tool” by the BJP adding that BJP and RSS have “created wedge” between Jammu and Kashmir.
“I met a delegation of KPs and they said that the government is sending them back to Kashmir valley forcibly where the atmosphere is not conducive for them (KPs),” Rahul said while replying to a question during a press conference at Jajhar Kotli on the sidelines of Bharat Jodo Yatra.
“They (KPs) are being forcibly sent to the valley where they are getting killed,” Rahul said and added, “The KPs also told me that BJP used them as a political tool and is insulting them and listening to their genuine concerns”.
Replying to another question, Rahul said that J&K is passing through tough times and there is an urgent need to make Assembly functional here for a vibrant democracy.
“Congress wants restoration of Statehood to J&K and a vibrant democracy here,” he said. “We want a functional Assembly here in J&K for a vibrant democracy as soon as possible”.
In response to another question, Rahul said, “BJP and RSS have created an atmosphere of hatred in the country and in J&K as well, and added, “They (BJP-RSSS) have created a wedge between Jammu and Kashmir”.
We want to bridge this gap, he added. He again reiterated that GST and Demonetisation have broken the back bone of this country due to which inflation and unemployment are on rise.
He added that Bharat Jodo Yatra has changed the narrative in the country  and has achieved its fundamental goal.  “We want to end hatred in this country and address people’s problems,” Rahul said adding, “BJP and RSS spent thousands of crores to malign my image but you can’t hide truth”.
In reply to another question, Rahul said, “It is due to RSS and BJP that the country is getting defamed and not because of me”.
