Srinagar, Feb 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson for Jammu and Kashmir, Arun Gupta has called for adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
“India has strongly carried out the zero-tolerance policy,” Gupta said while addressing a press conference here in connection with the 6th anniversary of Pulwama terror attack which occurred on February 14, 2019, where 40 CRPF personnel were martyred.
He said surgical strikes and air strikes were examples of counter-measures. “The neighbouring country is being sent a stern message that India is capable of a befitting reply,” he added.
The spokesperson also highlighted the progress made in security and peace measures since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. He said there is a need to strengthen multi-faceted security grids including coastal security, cybercrime and economic security.
“India has to achieve Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he said, adding that a multi-faceted security strengthening will play a very significant role in stabilising the economy and ensuring constant growth in the country.
Gupta said the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister and Defence Minister are effective. “India is prepared for any eventuality and that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not be in vain. The nation is indebted to them,” he said.
