J&K BJP General Secretary (org) Ashok Koul on Sunday proposed and provided a space inside the old bus stand to vendors. On getting the new and permanent space the vendors were jubilant and expressed their gratitude to BJP dignitaries.

According to a statement issued here, BJP Spokesperson said that On the invitation of Union of Shop keepers and road vendors of Batamaloo, Srinagar a high level delegation of Bhartiya Janta Party under the leadership of Ashok Koul, General Secretary (org) UT of J&K and Ashok Bhat (District President, Srinagar) attended an impressive function in which a massive number of shopkeepers, street vendors in particular and public in general participated.

“While interacting with Ashok Koul, the leaders of Shopkeepers and vendors expressed that they are daily bread earners for their families and make their both ends meet by selling different daily consumables, vegetables, fruits etc. in their shops and carts. But daily intervention by the traffic and municipal authorities for clearing the space has made their earning hard and requested the dignitary for some permanently solution to the problem by providing a place where they can lay their carts without any intervention.”

Ashok Koul took stock of the situation and found that street vendors have created a mess of batamaloo parimpora main road which is causing inconvenience to commuters and regular traffic is not able to pass smoothly and there is frequent interruption in traffic.

Koul, after giving a due thought to the situation, proposed and provided a space inside the old bus stand to these vendors. On getting the new and permanent space the vendors were jubilant and expressed their gratitude to BJP dignitaries.

Another demand of vendors/general public was that the bus stand shifted to Parimpora be shifted back to Batamaloo as it has created inconvenience for all the public who visit the city and also vendors and shopkeepers of Batamaloo have suffered huge losses since the transfer of bus stand. To this issue Ashok Koul assured them that the matter will be taken up with the concerned Government authorities for sympathetic consideration.

Accompanied the BJP Delegation among others were Manzoor Bhat (IT incharge kashmir) and Sh. Bilal Paray National executive member BJYM.
