Jammu, Aug 21: The Jammu & Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has completed the preparation of its election manifesto, termed the ‘Vision Document’, and has submitted it to the party’s central leadership for final approval. The manifesto is expected to be finalised and released within the next couple of days.
The document prominently features the abrogation of Article 370 and the subsequent achievements and benefits in Jammu & Kashmir. This aligns with the party’s narrative that the revocation of Article 370 fulfilled the long-held vision of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee by ensuring the full implementation of the Indian Constitution in J&K.
According to sources, the manifesto outlines the BJP’s future development plans, strategies for tackling terrorism, maintaining law and order and ensuring the security of both security personnel and the general public in the region. The document also addresses the issues of terrorism and separatism, saying these have been curtailed since the abrogation of Article 370.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of the BJP’s Manifesto Drafting Committee, Dr Nirmal Singh, told Rising Kashmir that the final decision regarding the manifesto’s release will be taken by the party’s central leadership.
“The manifesto incorporates around 4,000 suggestions received via email from residents of various areas in J&K and reflects the party’s efforts to include public feedback in its policy formulation,” he said.
The manifesto is expected to be released by senior BJP leaders, including National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a formal event in Delhi shortly.
