Srinagar, Aug 11: Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, on Sunday chaired the party’s Election Manifesto Convention for Kupwara district.
The event, held in Handwara, was attended by prominent BJP leaders including former MLC Surinder Ambardar, Anwar Khan (Prabhari North Kashmir), Javed Qureshi (Kupwara District President BJP), Syed Rafiq Shah (Constituency President of Trehgam), and Salem Chowdhary (BJP ST Morcha Chief Spokesperson), along with other district leaders, a statement issued here said.
The convention was part of the BJP’s outreach program aimed at finalising the party’s manifesto for the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the statement said, adding that the representatives and delegates from all blocks and constituencies participated and provided their input on the manifesto. Several delegations from the district also met with Dr Andrabi and her team to share their viewpoints.
In her address, Dr Andrabi said the BJP is fully prepared for the upcoming assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir. “The BJP cadres are active at the grassroots level,” she said, adding that the party’s manifesto would serve as a vision document for the holistic and equitable development of the region. The manifesto, she added, will be shaped by public feedback and the aspirations of the people for a peaceful and progressive Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Darakhshan praised the BJP cadres and leadership in the district for establishing the party as a reliable alternative to traditional dynastic and sentimentalist parties. The BJP is committed to its mission of a “Viksit Jammu & Kashmir” and “Viksit Bharat” and ensuring that the benefits of progress and development reach every citizen equitably, she said.
