Srinagar, Aug 26: Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday expressed confidence in the support from the public across all parts of J&K, saying the BJP is the only political party that cannot be accused of double-speak.
“It is because of the BJP that we are living in a peaceful atmosphere where our youth are not forced into suicidal actions anymore. The BJP has broken the sinister nexus between separatists and their pseudo-mainstream political leaders,” she said after handing over mandate letters to the party candidates from south Kashmir at an event held in Anantnag.
The event saw a warm reception for Dr Andrabi, who was accompanied by former MLC and senior party leader Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, among others.
The mandate letters were given to Mohammad Rafiq Wani for Anantnag West, Advocate Syed Wajahat for Anantnag, Sofi Yousuf for Sirgufwara-Bijbehara, Vir Saraf for Shangus-Anantnag, Javed Ahmad Qadiri for Shopian, and Arshid Bhat for Rajpora.
During the event, Dr Darakhshan said the BJP’s agenda in Jammu & Kashmir is centred on peace, prosperity and development as ensured by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We are proud of our achievements, and we are in the contest to bring about a change in the political scenario of J&K,” she said after the event.
Criticising the opposition, the BJP leader said it sounds like a crude joke when political dynasties claim they will resolve people’s problems. She accused these parties of being the problem creators who have shamelessly tried to deceive people by promising to address public issues. “They ruled for decades and only exploited the youth and nurtured violence and divisions. Their manifestos are yet again aimed at dividing people and creating unrest in J&K,” she remarked.
Dr Andrabi congratulated the nominated BJP candidates and wished them good luck for the upcoming elections.
