Srinagar, Oct 18: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Mehraj Malik on Friday said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have elected their own government, and it is crucial that New Delhi refrains from interfering in local governance.
Speaking with local news agency KNS, Malik urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to resist the temptation to replicate its political strategies from Delhi in the Union Territory. “The BJP should not think they can get involved in the J&K government or interfere in matters beyond their scope. We won’t allow that here,” he said.
Highlighting the challenges faced by the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, the AAP MLA from Doda expressed confidence that the Omar Abdullah-led government would tackle the enduring issues stemming from bureaucratic inefficiencies. He articulated AAP’s mandate from the public and pledged to focus on the welfare of the people.
“I want to become the hope for the hopeless people of J&K,” Malik said, adding that the AAP will work diligently for the betterment of the people.
