New Delhi, July 31: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Front, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National President JP Nadda, has announced the “Dr Kalam Startup Youth Award” to recognise and promote the talent of minority youth across India.
The award, according to the BJP, aims to honour minority youth who have shown exceptional skills and entrepreneurial spirit by starting their own ventures.
Jamal Siddiqui, National President of the BJP Minority Front, said the preparations for the award ceremony have been completed, with the registration process currently underway via the Morcha’s website.
He said the programme seeks to identify and support young talents from minority communities who have utilised government schemes to launch startups in various sectors. “This initiative is a testament to the BJP’s commitment to inclusive development and trust-building among all communities,” Siddiqui said.
Maryam Farooqui, the National Social Media Co-in-charge of the Minority Front, has been appointed as the National In-charge for this programme.
The initiative, titled “Kalam Ke Naam Yovani Pratibha Ko Salam”, aims to bring the stories of struggle and success of minority youth to the forefront, inspiring others across the country and beyond.
The registration process, accessible through the Minority Morcha’s official website https://minoritymorcha.bjp.org, is open until August 6.
The award ceremony will take place on August 12, coinciding with International Youth Day. On this day, 7 youths from each state will be honoured, with a special focus on talents from the Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist and other minority communities.
The announcement was made following the “Kalam Ko Salam” programme, held to commemorate the 9th death anniversary of the former President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
The programme, led by Jamal Siddiqui, paid tribute to the Missile Man of India and kicked off from his residence in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.
The selected candidates will be awarded at a ceremony held at state headquarters, with youth from the Delhi-NCR region participating in Delhi’s event. The initiative highlights the BJP’s effort to provide a platform for minority youth to gain recognition and support for their contributions to the nation’s economy and society, the statement said.
