Udhampur, Jan 04: BJP spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania has condemned lathi charge on peacefully protesting Tehber-e-Khel (ReKs) employees in Jammu.
He said that ‘right to protest’ is itself a fundamental right enshrined in constitution of India and available to each and every citizen.
Pathania was critical of use of force against not only males but females and against the guidelines of Police Rules as well as Supreme court.
“Male constables were used to manhandle and drag female protestors which are not only inhumane but unconstitutional too,” he alleged and called for taking a strict note of the same.
A cryptic order is doing the rounds which have created a sort of unrest and uncertainty.
Supporting their cause, he said that ReKs were appointed under a well-thought policy decision of an elected government. Pathania supported their demand for reduction of regularisation period and enhancement of honorarium. “Highly educated and trained professionals who have proved themselves while working in various capacities needs to be administered fair and equitable treatment”.
