Jammu, May 01: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, CEC (Leh) on Wednesday filed his nomination papers in the presence of senior leaders of the party’s J&K unit.
Before filing nomination papers, the BJP took a massive rally from the party office, Leh, which passed through various areas and reached the DC office, where the party’s candidate filed his nomination papers.
Thousands of BJP workers and senior leaders of the BJP, both from Ladakh and J&K, participated in the rally to show strength.
Ashok Koul, General Secretary (organization), BJP J&K and Ladakh, Sat Sharma, former minister, Ch Vikram Randhawa, former MLC, and Satish Sharma and other senior BJP leaders accompanied Tashi Gyalson.
Later, addressing a rally, Ashok Koul said the BJP has always taken up the cause of Ladakh on the front foot and stood like a rock for the people of Ladakh. He accused the opposition parties National Conference, Congress, and PDP of looting the resources of of J&K and Ladakh and depriving these regions of much-needed development.
The entire unit of the J&K BJP has shifted its focus on the Ladakh seat, which the party won in the 2019 Parliamentary elections.
The BJP has devised a well-planned strategy for campaigning in Ladakh which will go to polls on May 20. Scores of party workers and senior party leaders from J&K have already been camping in Ladakh and many others will soon reach Ladakh to boost campaigning.
‘Panna Pramukhs’ (incharges of each page of the voter list) will be appointed and duties will be assigned soon to different party leaders to campaign in Ladakh in such a way that each and every household is reached out, said a BJP leader.
He said the BJP’s star campaigners will also soon visit Ladakh for campaigning and the request for this has already been sent to the party high command nu J&K and Ladakh units .
