Srinagar, Feb 13: A grand rally was held in Nowgam area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday to celebrate the birth anniversary of Imam al-Zaman (AS) under the banner of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian.
Organised by the Al-Mehdi Khidmatgar Committee, the event saw a large turnout of scholars, students, and believers all gathering in devotion and anticipation of the Imam’s reappearance.
The rally, which began from Jamia Masjid Nowgam, culminated at Imambargah Abbas Abad Nowgam, where a majestic celebration was held. Participants carried banners and flags inscribed with messages of love for Imam al-Zaman (AJ) and prayers for his early reappearance. Students from religious schools also presented cultural performances, adding to the spiritual fervour of the event.
Addressing the gathering, president of the Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Aga Syed Hassan al-Mosavi al-Safavi, emphasised the deeper significance of the occasion, urging believers to prepare themselves spiritually, morally and socially for the Imam’s reappearance.
“Marking this occasion is not just an expression of joy but a call for us to align our lives with the teachings of our Imam. True devotion lies in preparing ourselves for his return. The anticipation of Imam al-Zaman (AJ) is not a passive belief but a responsibility to uphold justice, righteousness and unity,” he said. He further encouraged the community to remain steadfast in faith and work collectively to strengthen the values of truth and justice, which form the foundation of the Imam’s awaited leadership. The event concluded with heartfelt prayers for the reappearance of Imam al-Zaman (AJ) and a renewed commitment among the believers to walk the path of divine guidance.
