Tragedy struck in the Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district when a motorcyclist lost his life and two pillion riders sustained injuries after being hit by speedy Maruti Swift Dzire.
The incident took place at Trahpoo Achabal, when a bike was hit by Maruti Swift Dzire.
SHO Achabal told The Rising Kashmir that motorcycle bearing regd no. JKO3C-2697 was hit by Swift Dzire bearing regd no. JK03H-6291 in Trahpoo Achabal , resulting in on spot death of motorcyclist and injuries to duo pillion riders .
He said that deceased has been identified as Gull Muhammad Ganie (55year old) S/O Ali Muhammad Ganie resident of Tailwani Achabal , while his two pillion riders, Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, son of Ghulam Hassan Ganie, and Majid Ahmad Ganie, son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie, both hailing from Kanganhall Achabal, suffered injuries and were swiftly rushed to GMC Anantnag for treatment.
He said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of law in this regard.
“Police have taken cognizance of the incident and have ceased the vehicle and arrested its driver,” SHO said.
