Jammu, Mar 23: Bharatiya Janata Party Executive Member, Raman Suri on Sunday said the celebration of Bihar Diwas in Jammu Kashmir at the government level as well as BJP’s party level will further Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” by fostering unity and cultural exchange at the grassroots level.
For the first time, the BJP Jammu Kashmir unit is organising various events across Jammu Division, celebrating Bihar Diwas as a ‘Sneh Milan’ (gathering of affection). This initiative aims to highlight the strong bond between the people of Jammu Kashmir and Bihar, proving that India, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, is one and celebrates its unity in the true spirit of nationalism.
Hailing BJP Party Chief J&K Sat Sharma for spearheading this initiative, Raman Suri emphasised that the participation of prominent leaders from Bihar in these days of celebrations will add grandeur to the event. “The BJP is working to build a bridge between Jammu Kashmir and Bihar, recognising the immense contributions of Biharis in various sectors in Jammu Kashmir,” he said in a statement issued here.
Suri congratulated Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha for taking the initiative to celebrate Bihar Diwas at Raj Bhawan and inviting students, officials and the business community from Bihar living in Jammu Kashmir to join the moment. He lauded the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to unite Bharat and hold such events across the length and breadth of Bharat. Today, the entire Bharat, he added, is celebrating Bihar Diwas as a national festival.
“People from Bihar have played a crucial role in the growth and development of Jammu Kashmir as bureaucrats, technocrats, labourers, artists, engineers and academicians. Their contributions deserve recognition and should continue in the future,” he said.
The BJP leader further said that Bihar Diwas in Jammu will showcase Bihar’s rich cultural heritage through various programmes, including cultural performances, traditional art exhibitions, and interactive sessions. “This will provide the people of Jammu an opportunity to experience Bihar’s culture, strengthening the cultural harmony between the two regions,” he said.
Suri added, “The abrogation of Article 370 has ensured that all Indians are equal, and Bihar Diwas in Jammu is a testament to this new era of inclusivity. He also assured the Bihar community in Jammu Kashmir that the BJP stands with them, and if any of their family members face issues in Bihar, they will receive full support from the party through its network.
He urged all Bihar residents in Jammu Kashmir to participate wholeheartedly in the upcoming celebrations and make it a festival of unity. These events will not only strengthen emotional ties between but also reinforce the ideology of “One Nation, One Identity, he said.
