Anantnag, Dec 08: In a thrilling finale at HSS Dailgam, the Department of Youth Services & Sports showcased its commitment to fostering sportsmanship, as Bhijbehra emerged triumphant in the U/17 Boys Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, defeating Zone Qazigund in a nail-biting showdown.
Despite challenging weather conditions, all six zones participated with fervor, reflecting the true spirit of sportsmanship. The Principal of Govt. Higher Secondary School Dailgam, serving as the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony, commended the Department for its dedication to organizing tournaments throughout the year. In her opening speech, she expressed admiration for the participants and pledged full cooperation in hosting future events at the school premises.
The final match proved to be a spectacle of skill and determination as Bhijbehra and Zone Qazigund battled fiercely for the championship title. Ultimately, Bhijbehra’s team showcased exceptional prowess, securing their victory and claiming the coveted title of Champions of the Tournament. The Qazigund boys, displaying commendable talent, earned the Runner-Up position, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
The success of the U/17 Boys Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament underscores the Department’s commitment to promoting sports at the grassroots level, providing young athletes with opportunities to showcase their talents and fostering a culture of healthy competition in the district.
