Awantipora, Dec 11: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on Monday celebrated Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas in order to create language harmony and a supportive atmosphere for learning Indian languages. The program, organized by the Dean of Students, IUST, hosted multiple activities wherein students and staff participated.
The activities included sessions on the promotion of the Kashmiri language, stage plays reflecting Kashmiri culture, and quiz programs. Cultural programs and exposure visit of students was also organized. The aim of the exposure visit to the School of Engineering and Technology was to give the students hands-on training about language learning tools and software technologies.
On the occasion, Prof. Majrooh Rashid, Director Centre for Kashmiri Language and Literature suggested strengthening multilingualism saying it encourages people to learn more languages and makes them experience unity in diversity. Dr. Asifa Baba, Dean of Student, IUST emphasized increasing cultural awareness and inclusivity among individuals and society for national harmony. Dr. Shaiqa Nasreen, Coordinator Cultural Committee highlighted the importance of cultural connect and its relevance in empowering the communities.
