Bharat Maha EV rally reaches SMVDU

Jammu, Dec 13: The Bharat Maha EV Rally, recognised as the world’s longest electric vehicle rally, reached Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, on its 93rd day, marking a major milestone in its nationwide mission to promote sustainable mobility.
According to a statement issued here the rally was ceremonially flagged off by Prof. R. K. Mishra, Dean Students’ Welfare, in the presence of Dr. Rajiv Kumar (NSS Coordinator), Dr. Varun Dutta (NCC Coordinator), Dr. Anurag Kumar (Head, School of Languages & Literature), along with faculty members and students. Organized under the blessings of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, and Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, the rally has traversed 26 States and 7 Union Territories, with international outreach to Bhutan and Nepal. The initiative aims to raise awareness about electric vehicles, address misconceptions, demonstrate long-distance EV feasibility, and showcase India’s growing EV infrastructure.Led by Dr. Rajeev Mishra, President of the International Federation of Electric Vehicle Association (IFEVA), the rally has engaged with educational institutions, policymakers, industry experts, and youth across the country. By gathering on-ground insights, it is contributing to future EV policy, infrastructure planning, and sustainable mobility strategies. The Bharat Maha EV Rally underscores India’s commitment to clean energy, decarbonization, and leadership in the global electric mobility movement.
