BGSBU celebrates 22nd foundation day with grandeur

Rajouri, Dec 15:  Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and academic fervour at the University campus. The event was graced by  Shantmanu, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, J&K, as the Chief Guest.
According to a statement issued here, the programme commenced with the National Anthem, followed by the University Tarana and recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, setting a solemn and inspiring tone for the celebrations.
The Chief Guest,  Shantmanu, IAS, congratulated the University on completing 22 years of its establishment and lauded the consistent efforts of the University administration in steering BGSBU towards excellence despite various challenges. He appreciated the innovative initiatives undertaken by the University and assured full support from the Administration for its continued growth and development.
He also said that in just 22 years of its age, the institute has excelled in many fronts and it clearly shows that the university is on right track and will soon lead the education sector of nation.
He also inaugurated two smart classrooms besides launching campus community connect programme of the university besides launching an AI-for-language website and digital tools.
The Welcome Address was delivered by the Registrar, BGSBU, Abhishek Sharma, who extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, students and alumni present on the occasion. He apprised the gathering of the significant achievements of the University during the past year, including a steady rise in admissions, securing grants under Capex and Grant-in-Aid, establishment of smart classrooms, and various infrastructure development initiatives. He also highlighted the ongoing renovation of hostels and other developmental works taken up by the University.
On the academic front, the Registrar informed that the University has successfully implemented NEP-2020 and organized a Central Induction Programme for newly admitted students to ensure a smooth academic transition.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, congratulated the entire University fraternity and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the faculty and staff towards the holistic development of the institution. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to work with renewed vigour to transform BGSBU into a centre of academic and research excellence.
Dr Danish Iqbal Raina and Dr. Mamta Bhat also spoke on the two decadel journey of BGSB University which has witnessed a reformative growth in a short period of time.
