Ganderbal: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal on Tuesday chaired a District Level Committee (DLC) meeting to finalize the selection of beneficiaries under various components of the fisheries sector. The meeting was attended by Dr Salman Rauoof Chalkoo, Assistant Director Fisheries (Member Secretary, HADP), and officers from Agriculture and allied departments.
The meeting started with a welcome note and a brief presentation by AD Fisheries regarding the HADP components in Fisheries sector and the method of selection adopted by the district head for assessing the feasibility of sites for the establishment of units.
A total of 14 beneficiaries were selected under the general category, who will get a subsidy of 50%, and two beneficiaries under women with an SC/ST quota were also selected, who will get a 60% subsidy.
The draw of lots was conducted in the presence of all the members. One bio floc unit and one carp unit were also allotted to the beneficiaries during the meeting.
Under PMMSY, two beneficiaries were selected for a motorcycle with an icebox and one beneficiary for the construction of a trout pond. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair and other members.
