Budgam, Jan 13: People from various parts of the Beerwah and Khag have urged the Power Development Department to provide the proper power supply as per the announced schedule.
Javid Ahmad, one of the local residents from Khag, told Rising Kashmir that due to unscheduled power cuts in different villages of the Khag area, people are facing a lot of difficulties .
“We do not receive power supply as per the schedule fixed by the Power Development Department. The department must provide the electricity supply during the harsh winter season so that people do not face any kind of problem especially at night,” he said.
Bushra Habib, from Beerwah, said that the power development department has increased the fee of the consumers from Rs 700 to 1400, but the department is still not providing electricity supplies to the different villages of the Beerwah tehsil.
“There are a lot of students who are going to prepare for the board examinations. These students are not able to prepare because of unscheduled electricity supply in the villages, “She said.
Bushra said that the department must provide the electricity to every village of the Beerwah tehsil.
When contacted the Assistant Executive Engineer of PDD Sub-Division Beerwah said that people must use electricity in their homes as per the given load schedule so that they can receive proper electricity.
“The feeders could not bear the heavy load. If the load is decreased , people can receive proper electricity in their villages,” he said.
