Army has foiled an infiltration attempt in North Kashmir’s Baramulla along the LOC by Pakistan. This attempt is without doubt a part of the sabotage strategies being chalked out by Pakistan to disrupt the Lok Sabha Elections. As the preparations for the democratic process are already on after the Election Commission of India (ECI) notified the poll dates for the entire country that includes the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as well. In the Uri sector two terrorists were eliminated when they were trying to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir. In order to enable the infiltration Pakistan indulged into unprovoked firing from the forward posts to give cover to the terrorists. The Army had received the inputs from the intelligence agencies regarding the infiltration plans of Pakistan to sabotage the Lok Sabha Elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Baramulla constituency will witness polling on 20th May .It must be kept in mind that this place lies in proximity to the Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir(POJK).Thus making it vulnerable to such activities that can lead to disruption and violence. Pakistan is not only concentrating on Kashmir but has its eyes set on Jammu as well. We have witnessed how it has been consistently targeting Rajouri in Jammu as well. Pakistan trained terrorists have indulged in a series of terrorist activities that have continued for long periods. This includes the ambush with the Indian Army. It is in continuity that Pakistan is encouraging infiltration in Rajouri. In Darhal suspected movement of three people was witnessed. But the alert Indian Army resorted to firing and this made these infiltrators run away. After that, the Army launched massive search operations in the area. It also appealed to the local people to share information regarding the suspicious people with them. So that the untoward incidents are averted and precious lives saved. One thing is clear that Pakistan has not given up its policy of terrorism and is constantly fuelling acts of war against India. So that Jammu and Kashmir is kept on the boil and the innocent people  are targeted to keep the fear psychosis alive. Lok Sabha Elections are very crucial for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. Peaceful Parliamentary Elections will surely infuse a sense of empowerment and confidence among people. Pakistan Does not want that .It wants to keep the Union Territory mired in violence and bloodshed. Pakistan is a genocidal state as it was created on holocaust of innocent people. The more it indulges in genocide the more it legitimise its existence. As it was created on the basis of communal divide. It wants to sustain that policy and vindicate its policy of unfinished agenda of partition. Peaceful Lok Sabha Elections do not suit Pakistan. It wants to project a distressful and desperate picture of Jammu and Kashmir and its people. In such a scenario, India has to keep its fingers crossed and not to leave any stone unturned. As the violence before or during the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir suits Pakistan and its ISI. This will have an impact on the Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The Supreme Court has already directed the Central Government to conduct Lok Sabha Elections by September this year. As such the Lok Sabha Elections will be a litmus test and full dress rehearsal for the Assembly Elections. There is a need for a well-coordinated strategy to foil the Pakistani game plan to disrupt the peace in Jammu and Kashmir. At this juncture India cannot afford to lose the ground in the Union Territory. This Lok Sabha Election and the Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir must be peaceful. These elections will send a strong message of mainstreaming Jammu and Kashmir after the neutralisation of Article 370 and 35 A.
