Mumbai, Feb 05: Superb display of almost all the bowlers led by Aditi Aryan and Kajal Bhagat and splendid batting show by Bawandeep Kaur helped Jammu and Kashmir to crush Mizoram by 9 wickets in a one-sided low scoring affair of Women’s U-23 One-Day Trophy at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC, Mumbai on Monday.
Earlier, put into bat, Mizoram bundled out for 71 runs in 36.4 overs. Zauli (21) and Jacinta (15) were the main contributors.
For J&K, Aditi Aryan was the most successful bowler, who took 4 wickets by conceding 22 runs in her 7 overs, while Kajal Bhagat was the most economical, who gave away just 7 runs in her 10 overs and took 3 important wickets. Mariya Noorain, skipper Ananaya Sharma and Arveen Riyaz claimed one wicket each.
In reply, J&K sailed on magnificent knock by Bawandeep Kaur and chased the target easily in 14 overs, losing one wicket in the process, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Bawandeep top scored with unbeaten 43 runs off equal number of balls, studded with 7 delectable boundaries, while make-shift opening batter Lalita contributed 10 runs to the total and Shambhavi Rajput contributed unbeaten 6 runs.
For Mizoram, Ruati claimed the lone wicket to fall.
