JD(U) State President G M Shaheen and State General Secretary Vivek Bali JKUT strongly batted for permanently removal of Sarore toll plaza.

G M Shaheen said that common man is already paying several taxes such as when he buy new vehicle he has to pay 15 years advance road tax where as then Vajpayee’s led Union Government taken the decision to impose 50 paisa per litre tax on Petrol/Diesel for NH widening from Kashmir to Kanyakumari which is now increased upto ₹ 2, then Why should common man has to pay another tax at toll plaza? , Shaheen asked.

Shaheen said Is this huge anomaly a result of discrimination, appeasement or misconception of National Highway Authority, it is very difficult to solve this puzzle, believing that era of discrimination, oppression and exploitation is over, but sadly that never came true.

Vivek Bali said a large numbers of protests were undertaken by various political parties, NGOS and social organisations for removal of Sarore Toll plaza, but government has not paid any scant attention to just demand of people.Nitin Gadkari, honourable minister had stated in parliament in March 2022, that all toll plazas with 60 kilometres will be removed with in three months, but after almost one year Sarore Toll plaza is functional and standing tall.

Bali urged honourable Lt Governor Manoj Sinha Ji and Nitin Gadkari Ji to review the status of Sarore toll plaza in JKUT, and mitigate the sufferings of people of Jammu region by dispensation of equitable justice. Local leaders of ruling dispensation, has the obligation of meeting the geniune demands and aspirations of people of Jammu region.
