Bandipora, Nov 25: Police in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district is on a mission to regulate the smooth flow of traffic and have advised commuters to adhere to traffic rules to reduce accidents. They have sought public cooperation to ensure a smooth flow of traffic a regular occurrence in the district.
Talking to Rising Kashmir, Station House Officer (SHO) Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad said special squads have been constituted to ensure the implementation of rules so that traffic flow is made smooth in busy areas and during rush hours in the town.
He said efforts are being made to make people understand the importance of following the traffic rules. He has urged the people to act more responsibly saying there is a need to find a concrete solution to the traffic jam problem and rising accidents.
“People should opt for carpooling, go on foot to nearby areas and make use of public transport instead of private ones if the work is not so important,” the SHO said.
The officer said the decision to initiate a one-way traffic plan in the town is on cards which will ease out the flow of traffic and will help in mitigating the peak traffic rush in the morning and evening.
