Bailey bridge in Beerwah declared unsafe for heavy vehicles

Budgam, Aug 07: The authorities have declared Beerwah Bailey bridge over Nallah Sukhnang unsafe for the heavy vehicles in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The Executive Officer of the R & B Department in Beerwah division informed Rising Kashmir that the Bailey bridge situated over Nallah Sukhnang in Beerwah main town has been declared unsafe for the heavy vehicles. The movement of the heavy vehicles has been prohibited on this bridge
“The bridge has been also maintained from time to time. However, due to the heavy load of heavy vehicles, it is not capable of withstanding such weight,” He said.
Executive officer said that the other vehicles are permitted to cross the bridge. The aim is to ensure public safety and maintain the bridge’s condition.
“We have also submitted a detailed project report (DPR) to the higher authorities for the construction of a new bridge at this location.” He added.
