Rajouri, Dec 19: As a part of nationwide ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence, the Central Bureau of Communication, Rajouri, in coordination with District Administration, is organizing an Integrated Communication Outreach program on Amrit Mahotsav under the aegis of Central Bureau of Communication, (J&K), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India here in the Government PG Degree College from December 20 to 22, 2022.
The exhibition showcases India’s struggle for freedom through display panels. Major events of the freedom struggle include the Revolt of 1857, the Non-Cooperation Movement, the Establishment of Home Rule, Champaran Satyagraha, Kheda Satyagraha, the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, Khilafat Movement, the Chauri-Chaura Incident, Dandi March or Namak Satyagraha, Azad Hind Fauj, Quit India Movement, and the Partition of India. A special facet was also put up to highlight the contribution of freedom fighters belonging to J&K and Ladakh.
Selfie corners, seminars (expert lectures on centrally sponsored schemes), open quizzes, film shows, cultural programs, and the ‘New India Samachar’ magazine of Govt of India will be the main attraction for the youth. People are requested to visit the exhibition (free entry) which helps them in inculcating the passion for nationalism among them and makes them understand the hardships faced by freedom fighters and their sacrifices to achieve the goal of freedom.
In order to mobilize the masses to visit the multimedia exhibition, a pre-publicity event was organized at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School under the Chairmanship of Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Principal GBHSS, Rajouri, Faculty, and Staff of CBC, Jammu and CBC, Rajouri.
Rakesh Sharma, Principal, in his address, urged the gathering to pay homage and be grateful to all the freedom fighters and the security forces who secure the hard-earned freedom. “At present country is witnessing unprecedented deliverance in the case of public services at their doorsteps through Back to Village, My town My Pride, Digital services, etc,” he said.
Attia Shaheen, Lecturer of History and Fazal Hussain Lecturer of Commerce also spoke on the topic. They reminded the students about their duty towards the nation and fellow beings for the upliftment of the country and building the nation into a self-reliant (Atmanirbhar) country.
Sunil Kumar, I/c Central Bureau of Communication, Field Office, Rajouri, in his welcome address said that the CBC, through its field offices reaches out to the far-flung, isolated, and media-shadowed areas to spread awareness regarding various centrally sponsored schemes of the Government of India through exhibitions, songs, skits, ICOPs, interactive programs, competitions, etc. in coordination with district administration. Vijay Mattoo, FPO, CBC, Poonch, said the Amrit Mahotsav will continue till 15 August 2023.
