Srinagar Dec 06: To ensure the widespread awareness among rural masses and reach unreached population, the Agriculture Department Srinagar on Wednesday organised an awareness programme here in Panchayats of Khonmoh-A and Khonmoh-B under ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
The awareness programmes were conducted on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad with an aim to provide a platform for the provision of on-the-spot services related to Government schemes for Agriculture and allied sectors to the beneficiaries of Panchayat Halqas of Khonmoh-A and Khonmoh-B.
The programmes held under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra witnessed enthusiastic response from the public, especially women, youth and farmers.
On the occasion, the Officers/Officials of the Agriculture Department who had set up stalls of Saffron, Mashroom, Vegetables, Apiculture, Seed & Lavender Oil to showcase flagship schemes of the Government and made farmers aware about the benefits of different schemes and holistic approach of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra towards community development.
The literature regarding package of practices were also distributed among the farmers and several beneficiaries were also covered under the KCC and other schemes, besides SHC demonstrations were also held which were participated by the number of farmers.
Horticulture related awareness camps held to cover uncovered beneficiaries
As a part of ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, awareness programmes continue in Srinagar District to empower the people by making them aware about the Government sponsored flagship programmes.
On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad the Horticulture Department Srinagar set up awareness camps in Khonmoh Block of Srinagar District.
During the camps held at Panchayas of Khonmoh Block, the Officers of the line Departments underscores the importance of bringing government schemes closer to communities, igniting a spirit of development and reach the unreached beneficiaries.
On the occasions, Demonstration on soil sampling, awareness regarding various centrally sponsored schemes and HADP, beneficiaries enlisted for K.C.C, Demonstration on pruning, besides, pamphlets/literature regarding various departmental schemes were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
During the camps, the officers/officials of the Horticulture Department established stalls displaying benefits of the Government welfare and flagship schemes. The programmes witnessed overwhelming response from the public, especially women, youth and farmers.
