Anantnag, Mar 12: The sub-divisional administration in Kokernag has intensified checking on pesticides and instructed the horticulture department to closely monitor dealers selling pesticides.
The team during a drive on Tuesday destroyed dozens of bottles of expired pesticides and warned dealers against selling expired and substandard pesticides and fertilizers in the area.
Suheel Ahmad Lone, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag, told Rising Kashmir that they have instructed the Horticulture Department of Kokernag Subdivision to closely monitor pesticide dealers and ensure that quality and standard supply of pesticides and fertilizers are available to farmers.
“The team destroyed 102 bottles of Nano Urea, 15 bottles of Biofertilizers, and 5 kg of Insecticides which were found expired in the village of Watnard Zone Kokernag,” he said.
The SDM further said that there are strict directions against the sale of substandard and expired pesticides to farmers and orchardists, especially with the spray season approaching.
