Authorities initiate several infrastructural projects in Budgam

Up-gradation of the Tosamaidan-Sithran road begins

Budgam, Mar 29: To facilitate relief efforts in the Budgam district, the authorities have initiated various infrastructure projects aimed at benefiting the community.

An official from the Budgam district administration told Rising Kashmir that the upgrade of the Tosamaidan-Sithran road has commenced in the Beerwah Sub-division. Additionally, construction has begun on two bridges at Chewdara and Kanigund, which will enhance connectivity for several villages within the Beerwah Sub-division.

The official also noted that essential infrastructure, including public conveniences and parking facilities, has been established at the Abhinav Gupta cave in Beerwah. Furthermore, a public park have been also developed in the main town of Beerwah.

Plans are in place to upgrade the shrine at Pethi Makhuma. The construction of a new 125-bed district hospital in Reshipora, along with a 100-bed critical care unit, is also underway in the district.

“In the main Budgam district headquarters, a multi-level car parking facility and shopping complex have been completed. The modernization efforts include a rainwater harvesting system, courtroom enhancements, a public facilitation center, and the construction of ramps at the DC office complex Budgam have been also get completed, ” Official said.

The second phase of the beautification project for Budgam town is expected to commence soon. Additionally, the upgrade of the sports stadium in Budgam town has been completed. Under the AMRUT 2.0 initiative, a water supply scheme will be implemented for the main town of Budgam.

In the Chadoora Sub-division, a new bus stand is set to be developed, and the sports complex will be upgraded with the assistance of the sports council. The shrine of Charar-i-Sharief will also upgraded according to the official.

Moreover, the construction of the new revenue complex for the tehsildar has commenced in the BK Pora area, which previously operated from rented premises.

Additionally, the playground at the Government Degree College in Charar-i-Sharief has been made operational. The BSNL tower at the tourist destination of Yousmarg has also been activated in that area.

In the Khansahib sub-division, a naib tehsildar office complex has been built in the Kachwari area. Plans are underway for the construction of a parking facility and cafeteria complex in Doodhpathri, with land already identified for these projects. Furthermore, the upgrade of the Doodhpathri-Raiyar road has been completed within the Khansahib sub-division.

He also mentioned that the Shamas Faqeer shrine view will be developed, along with the Ragenya Mata Asthapan temple at Raithan, to enhance facilities for pilgrims and promote heritage tourism.
