Authorities demolish terrorist’s house built on encroached land

Srinagar, Dec 10: The authorities on Saturday demolished a house of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terrorist allegedly built on encroached land in Rajpora area of Pulwama police sources revealed.

The police spokesman said that house of designated terrorist Ashiq Nangroobuilt on encroached government land was demolished at New Colony Rajpora Pulwama.

Ashiq Ahmad Nengroo alias Amjid Bhai is son of Ghulam Ahmad Nengrooresident of Hajan Bala, Rajpora Pulwama.

His brother Abbas Nengroo was an Active militant of JeM outfit and was killed in 2013 during an encounter at Achgoza.

The police spokesman said Ashiq Negroo has involvement in many cases including Case FIR No 129/2013 U/S 307 RPC, 7/27 Arms Act of PS Pulwama.

In the year 2020, JeM outfit attacked and killed one civilian Azad Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Abdullah Dar R/o Kangan Pulwama.

“The attack was carried out by terrorist Zahid Ahmad Wani, Owais Amin, Yasir parry alias Furkan. During investigation it was established that the attack was carried out at the behest of Ashiq Ahmad Nengroo and he was the mastermind behind the attack on the eve of Independence Day,” the spokesman said.

As per Police, Nengroo started working as OGW for prescribed JeM Outfit and besides providing every possible assistance to the terrorists he was also transporting smuggled weapons for the terrorists in his vehicle from one place to another.

“He was finally arrested by Police Station Pulwama in case FIR No. 129/2013 U/S 302 RPC, 7/27 IA Act during the year 2013.He was arrested in the said case and was later on bailed out by the court,” the spokesman said.

As per Police, Nengroo operated under code name Amjid bhai and was tasked to ferry terrorists who would cross through international border into Kashmir valley.

Later, it is learnt that from 2016 to 2018 subject ferried more than 20 Pakistani terrorists and huge arms and ammunition into valley using his trucks, police revealed.

The spokesman said after being exposed in the terror crime the subject went underground to escape arrest and crossed over to LOC. Reports pouring in reveal that Ashiq Ahmad Nengroo is running JeM network at POK and is involved in motivating youth to infiltrate to valley for terrorist activities.

The police spokesman said during interrogation Riyaz Ahmad Nengroorevealed that Ashiq Nengroo was accompanying the truck which brought 3 terrorists from Kathua in his truck who were later eliminated in Katraencounter.

He also revealed that Ashiq owns 2 trucks, which he used for terrorism related activities of JeM and the subject is absconding since arrest of his brother Riyaz.

According to the MHA, Nengroo was “running a terror syndicate in Kashmir” and “orchestrating terror in Jammu and Kashmir” from Pakistan. It is believed that he was instrumental in helping JeM chief Moulana Masood Azhar’s nephew Idrees to infiltrate into J&K.
