Pulwama, Aug 28: Nomination papers of 67 candidates were accepted on Tuesday after their scrutiny across six assembly constituencies in twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian while as 16 were rejected.
Authorities informed Rising Kashmir that nomination papers of 2 candidates were rejected for Rajpora constituency, 2 for Pulwama, 2 Pampore and 3 for Tral constituency of Pulwama district.
Authorities informed that 12 candidates had filed nomination papers for Rajpora, 14 for Pulwama, 16 for Pampore and 13 for Tral constituency.
For Shopian and Zainapora constituencies of Shopian district authorities rejected nomination papers of 7 candidates, 2 for Shopian and 5 for Zainapora after proper scrutiny.
Authorities had received nomination papers from 13 candidates for Shopian and 15 for Zainapora.
Authorities told Rising Kashmir that the nomination papers for 16 candidates were rejected because they were having one or other deficiencies.
The candidates whose nomination forms have been rejected belong to various local and national political parties as well as independent candidates.
