GANDERBAL, JUNE 01: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Dr.ArvindKarwani, conducted an on-the-spot review of arrangements for the upcoming Mata KheerBhawani Mela-2014 across various locations in the Kashmir Valley.
The Mata KheerBhawaniMela is scheduled to take place on 14th June this year, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of JyeshthaAshthami. The Yatra will commence from Jammu on 12th June at 6 am, with a brief stop at Ramban before proceeding to destinations including Tulmulla (Ganderbal), Tikker (Kupwara), Devsar (Kulgam), Manzgam (Kulgam), and Logripora (Anantnag), reaching its final destination by evening. Transportation of devotees from Jammu will be facilitated by the Relief Organization, following past practices.
Dr.Karwani engaged with the concerned district administration, mandirprabandhak committee members, and pilgrims to evaluate the status of arrangements related to accommodation, sanitation, logistics, security, and other basic amenities. He instructed the Deputy Commissioners to designate a senior officer as a nodal officer to oversee and coordinate Yatra arrangements in their respective districts.
Subsequently, Dr.Karwani, accompanied by site engineers, inspected various Transit Accommodations for PM Package Employees under construction in North, South, and Central Kashmir. He also interacted with PM package employees stationed across different locations in the Valley, listening to their demands such as allotment of quarters, improved basic amenities, and better education for their children.
Assuring that all genuine demands would be addressed in a phased manner, the Commissioner instructed engineers to ensure quality work and expedite completion so that quarters could be allocated to eligible employees promptly, following the government’s specified criteria.
